City Table will provide a laid-back approach to dining, answering the demands of those looking for a fun and comfortable casually elegant neighborhood eatery where they are just as likely to run into a friend at the bar as they are a Hollywood celebrity.
Nestled in the heart of the Back Bay, the Exeter Street entrance to City Table is just steps from Boston Public Library, at the corner of Boylston Street. Within walking distance from Beacon Hill and the South End, City Table is the perfect social dining and cocktailing neighborhood destination.
Warm brown woods, bamboo and slate flooring paired with organic patterned fabrics in rich brown and blues on leather banquettes create a relaxed and approachable environment where guests can gather after work, before a night out on the town or for a late night bite.
“We designed City Table to be a neighborhood place to go, maybe several times a week, not just for special occasions. A place where it’s just as comfortable to eat in the bar as the table seating,”

City Table’s free spirited approach to the menu allows guests more freedom to share and try a wide offering of starters, entrees and sides that put a creative twist on classic American fare. In addition to serving breakfast, City Table’s dinner menu features starters and small plates perfect for sharing among friends or late-night dining.
Also highlighted on the menu are creative American Bistro style sandwiches, many under $10. Options include The Cubano, a spicy pork, salami and ham sandwich, topped with Swiss cheese, city pickles, and chipotle mayo on a pressed torpedo roll or the Sliders 3 Way, grass fed sirloin, lamb and crab cake sliders.
Enticing City Table starters range from Caramelized Potato Gnocchi with braised veal, shitake mushrooms and pears to a Fig and Duck Prosciutto Flatbread Pizza or Chicken Drummetts in a dark rum glaze with lime dipping sauce. For those looking to share a larger entrée, The Table’s menu includes Bistro classics like Grilled Atlantic Salmon with mushroom risotto and roasted brussel sprouts, Blue Cheese Crusted Filet, served with whipped Yukon potato and broccoli rabe in a red wine sauce and Seared Ahi Tuna with somen noodles, seaweed salad and bok choy.

City Table is an intimate gathering spot for pre-dinner or after work with an extensive beverage list featuring a variety of traditional cocktails and signature libations along with one-of-a-kind martinis including; Ginger-Peach Martini (Stolichnaya peach, ginger syrup, and lemon juice), The Pallazo (Bombay sapphire, acqua de credo, yellow chartreuse, twists of orange, lemon and lime) and the Willy Wonka (chocolate vodka, Godiva white and dar, white crème de cacao).
